User Names & Avatars

We really want people to use their own name and a photo of themselves as an avatar. This is because we often meet up at festivals and concerts. So it just seems friendly, to be able to recognise people and know their name (or alias).

If you want me to load an Avatar for you on the TalkAwhile server, please just fill in the form below with your image. Avatars are displayed at 80x100 pixels but ideally the image you send me should be at least 300 pixels high - I will shrink them to fit and I do have experience of making images look as good as possible at the small size. You can edit your board profile and link to an image on any server. However this might cause problems. Whoever owns the server hosting the image might see this as 'hot linking' and break the link, or the image may be copyright. If a link becomes broken, or we get a complaint, it will be removed. Please don't use animated images, as they are distracting. Your avatar will only be added if you have posts to the board. Because we often meet board members at concerts and festivals, you a strongly encouraged to have a recognisable photo of yourself as an avatar. These will be given priority.
