Hi,
 I downloaded the three segments of songs. I liked the song summer gathers the most. Rivers flow has a very 60's feel. I think Judy's voice needs to be a bit more forward. The Star crazy song has a newer more electronic sound ( more like Enja) . Very eclectic.   How many more tracks?  Hope all is well

How interesting - Word Magazine has a feature this month on some lady singer who hasn't made a record for 35 years...yes, it's Vashti Bunyan...and on the next page there's an article by one Jude Rogers, who is clearly a Fairport fan...put the two together and well, have you thought of giving them a call? Looks like you're right up their boulevard.  ;D

when is the new one coming out, c'mon you cant leave us just hanging around like this, we're getting desparate, c'mon, like p---lease.

news news news!!!

I'm telling you all first before it goes up on my website (probably early next week) that Talking Elephant will be releasing the next two (!!!)  CDs

The first one 'SPINDLE' will be released on my birthday, 13th February 2006 (I shall be ancient

The second one 'WHORL' will be later in the year

Both the CD's are co written (except for 2 tracks) and brilliantly produced by Marc Swordfish of Astralasia (again) and all of his newly reformed Astralasia play on it.

As do Robert Fripp, James Asher, Doc Mahone, and Simon House

We have done an extraordinary trancy dancy stomping version of 'See Emily Play' which Talking Elephant are considering releasing as a radio single. (I hope they do. I really hope they do)

As well as the two CDs a Special Edition vinyl copy of the albums will be released in the Spring. This will really be something special, but more news on this later (just to keep you guessing!).

Was referrin to Spindle as our puter had a craft moment despite only bein 6 months old (and therefore obsolete by default...) and refused to access your website. Happily is now restored and I've been listening to the sound bites. Hurrah!!

Ooh look There's another one............

I am delighted to tell you that 'The Whorl'  (the sister CD to 'Spindle',) now has a release date of 24th July 2006.

And I have just got my hands on some finished copies. It is available in advance from Amazon and of course Talking Elephant and probably just about everywhere else.

'But what's it about?' I hear you all (faintly) cry..... ::)

Well for a start it has a version of King Crimson's 'I Talk To The Wind' on it with Simon House playing breathtaking violin.

The other songs are all written by me. It does have also another version (mix I think they call it) of 'Shining' (this time called 'Forever Shining') which has Robert Fripp's soundscapes and James Asher playing hammer dulcimer this time. Oh yes and a bit of thunder and some rain.

And that there Doc Mahone has added banjo to 'The Teller' which is a song I wrote after seeing Ralph McTell playing to a rapt audience.

What else?  Oh yes a truly weird song called Seventh Whorl. The frustration of being told to take things slowly. And my biographical song 'Road To Somewhere' with tremendous backing vocals from Phoebe and Giles from Astralasia. In fact all of Astralasia are the musicians behind the whole CD and jolly fantastic they are.

Right then. I will write this out again and put it on my website (it's not there quite yet) and get Webby James to put some clips on it.

I'm not able to put a clip of 'I Talk To The Wind' on for the same reason that I couldn't put up a clip of 'See Emily Play'..... because I didn't write them.  Never mind!

There now. that'll do. All this promoting stuff makes me twitchy :o

You are aware that it will be my second version of ITTTW, the first one being recorded with the pre- Crimson Crimson of Giles, Giles & Fripp Mcdonald and Dyble. Which appears on both 'The Young Persons Guide To King Crimson' and 'The Brondesbury Tapes'?

Right. I can tell you about one of the bits of news which is so off the wall that it's really quite entertaining!

Shock-rock-new-wave-punk band Belisha wanted me to sing a Fairport song backed by them at their headline gig at the Islington Carling Academy next week.

Naturally I said yes and then started biting my nails.

Luckily for the ends of my fingers, it's going to be impossible for me to do that gig now as time and their touring mean there's no time to rehearse (or even meet for that matter!), but I will be possibly adding a vocal to the album that they're currently recording.

So that's one thing........ ;D

Whatever happens it was really good to be asked.... 8)

The single that I recorded back in November with the Conspirators has a release date of the 3rd of March on Transcend Records.

It's a double A side 'One Sure Thing' and 'Take Me To Your Leader' (I share lead vocals on OST and sing backing vocals on TMTYL) and the B side (it's a triangular thing..) is 'Connected' (on which I don't sing but which is a lovely song)
