Title: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Anna on March 22, 2006, 05:09:55 PM Just had an idea...
Would it be good if the car stickers were made available to buy, after the free ones are gone? Or even before, for greedy people like me who want lots, for the different groups of people they're buying for... Thoughts? Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: MarkV on March 22, 2006, 05:32:53 PM I am not allowed to put one in the car as it advertises the fact that we will be away on the dates in question. Burglars are just waiting to pounce while you are away :(
Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Folkie (Jen) on March 22, 2006, 05:36:52 PM Very true, but I found out through the sticker that my neighbour in Swansea next year went to Cropredy last year. (S)He has a sticker from last year on their car. I'd love to know whether they read this board. (Rhyddings T.)

Burglars are just waiting to pounce while you are away :( I don't put mine in for the same reason, though I took mine to Croppers last year to put in when I arrived...but forgot. Never mind, I think the stickers will last a lot longer than my old car anyway and you can never peel them off very well before the car heads for the scrap! Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: MarkV on March 22, 2006, 05:51:50 PM and you can never peel them off very well Another reason I am not allowed to put em in the car. Henpecked, thats what I am ;D Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Polly Oxford (Andie) on March 22, 2006, 06:48:28 PM Well I'm allowed to keep last year's on the window until I get there, then it's on with the new.
PS I've never had a problem peeling the previous one off, they are all carefully folded in the glove pocket. Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: clive on March 22, 2006, 07:08:14 PM I don't like stickers in cars as they tend to degrade in sunlight and go all brittle.
Last year's is on the glass shower panel and serves as a reminder of better days on cold dark work mornings. I haven't? Shudder, shudder. :-[
It must have been a cruel joke perpetrated by the Labour Party on yours truly. Make it a Tory Blue, this year, Matty Grooves, with a tasteful slogan like: 'Don't follow me. I'm going to Cropredy and I don't usually mix with oiks.' [;-) Thank you. Sir Robert Peel Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: abby (tank girl) on March 22, 2006, 10:42:28 PM can

Or even before, for greedy people like me who want lots, for the different groups of people they're buying for... Thoughts? My rear screen already has "Stop Stansted Expansion" and "Countryside Alliance says B*****ks to Blair" and for security reasons wouldn't want to advertise absence, so mine is going spare. Yours for nothing if you IM me where to send it. Malcolm Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: giottoscircle (Robert) on March 23, 2006, 09:27:42 AM Got tickets, got sticker, havent got car. Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Bethan on May 16, 2006, 08:52:08 PM ebaying a fairport car skicker... that's a novel idea lol wonder how much you'd get.
I had to fight my dad for ours... but I won and now get to show it off to my friends at collage... so cool! ... looks much better in my car anyway ^-^ (spare sticker very much welcome people! my dad's been sulking :'( too much to bare) Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Jo Robinson on May 16, 2006, 10:51:18 PM My younger son thought he was doing me a favor and took my sticker to put on the inside of my Jeep's rear window. Which was all well and good except that my rear window is heavily tinted, so no one can see the sticker. ::headdesk:: :-\
Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Bethan on May 17, 2006, 09:23:34 AM bummer jo!
my back window's heavily tinted... with mud that is. any chance of pealing it off? Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Jo Robinson on May 17, 2006, 02:59:25 PM If I'm very careful....
What I wanted to do with it was put it on a sheet of clear plastic and make it part of my Cropredy scrap book. :( Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Bethan on May 18, 2006, 01:55:40 PM you could always take a photo of it and put it in the scrap book under the title of:
" I guess he was only trying to help! :-\ " Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Jo Robinson on May 18, 2006, 10:25:52 PM He's pretty good at that - the "helping" part. ::)
I'm taking him and his brother to see the acoustic Fairport in June, so maybe he'll have a better appreciation for all things concert-related! And as it's his 12th birthday today, we're off to bake a cake. ;D Title: Re: Cropredy car stickers Post by: Bethan on May 21, 2006, 10:22:50 PM wondering off topic slighty but early experience of Fairport can never be a bad thing...
I have memories of Cropredy when I must have been about 5-6 years old, and generaly growing up with Fairort in the background meant that when I heard them in my home town last year I got my whole childhood flooding back to me in the first song of the gig... pleasent nostalgia overload! (oh dear, I say "childhood"... and I'm only 18!... oh dear... *shakes head*) anyway, hope your son enjoys them!!! and that you've resolved the sticker insident... |
