Title: Rare Sandy / Trevor / Steeleye footage
Post by: fstix (Michael) on April 09, 2006, 06:43:37 AM
In the late 60s to mid 70s, there was a music show on the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) called GTK, short for "Get To Know".  It only ran for 10 minutes, four nights a week and for a while was pretty much the only place to see contemporary music on TV.  It was assumed most of the programs had been wiped by now - but apparently not!  Someone has been gathering them up and cataloging them; we can only hope there will be some sort of DVD release at some point.

Why do I mention it here?  http://tinyurl.com/rzqen has the listing for a June 1973 show...

B&W;
0.00 VS BOATS IN HARBOUR, MEMBERS OF FAIRPORT CONVENTION SIT AT OUTDOOR CAFE TABLE;
0.38 MCU IV LUCAS AND DAVIS RE PLAYING CONCERTS OVERSEAS, PLAYING TO LARGE AUDIENCES AT STADIUMS, TOURING, CA VS MEMBERS OF BAND AT TABLE

("Davis" is actually Sandy Denny!)

Another episode has FC doing Polly On The Shore, though I assume that's the clip on the All Comes Round Again video.

As if that wasn't enough...  http://tinyurl.com/plhve

THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE. A MUMMERS PLAY BY ANONYMOUS PRESENTED IN ADELAIDE BY STEEL EYE SPAN. PERFORMANCE OF TRADITIONAL PLAY DURING AT ADELAIDE FESTIVAL BY STEELEYE SPAN.

 ;D

Not sure if these are actually available or not but we'll see...

And again, with Fotheringay. Many apologies if these links have been posted before, I'm brand new to this site.
