Title: Swarbrick/Maggie Mae?? Post by: MPinelli on September 20, 2006, 10:43:35 PM I met a guy at a party last weekend. He seemed to know plenty of obscure facts about folk music in particular. Anyway he claimed Mr. Swarbrick played the mandolin outro on Rod Stewarts "Maggie Mae". I had never heard that he had done that.

(Oh dear name dropping again sorry) but I shared a flat with Martin Quittenton and his girlfriend at the time Maggie May was being written (incidentally by Martin and Rod) and recorded and I knew most of the musicians involved with the project, and I'm sure I would have known if Dave S was involved Jude :-X Title: Re: Swarbrick/Maggie Mae?? I knew most of the musicians involved with the project, I was googling on this thread and learned that the slide guitarist Sammy Mitchell had died.
