Title: Mastermind Post by: PLW (Peter) on December 19, 2006, 09:27:00 AM Does anyone remember a few years ago a contestant on Mastermind had Fairport Convention as their specialist subject? I can't remember much about it (other than John Humphreys having never heard of the band!).
I wonder who set the questions? And who was the contestant - is he "one of us"? And just out of interest, what were the questions? Title: Re: Mastermind Post by: jude on December 19, 2006, 09:31:18 AM I was the answer to one of them, fulfilling a long-held, but off-the-wall wish to be the 'answer to a question' ;D 8)

Title: Re: Mastermind Post by: Chris on December 19, 2006, 09:41:44 AM The question setter was listed in the programmes end credits - I think it was Colin Irwin, but the memory is a bit rusty.
There were over 20 questions, my memory is a bit etc etc.... There is no member here who has owned up to being that person in the chair. Title: Re: Mastermind Post by: Andy on December 19, 2006, 09:47:58 AM It's mentioned in the Radio 4 Programme about FC fom 2004, which can be downloaded by those with a reasonable speed link, from www.slashtemp.com/clips (it's 13mb)

Don't think the guy who answered the questions ever wandered into Talkawhile Title: Re: Mastermind Post by: Nick Reg on December 19, 2006, 10:58:36 AM The question setter was listed in the programmes end credits - I think it was Colin Irwin, but the memory is a bit rusty. He turned up at a Fairport gig in Leek in between recording and broadcast, and was pointed out by Simon. I don't recognise him from any other pics I've seen. Assume he comes from the Midlands or North West. Dave Rhead of Leek FC (Cuckoos Nest) might know.
