It was a great rendition of a Gordon Lightfoot song. But am I missing something?

Does anyone know when Trevor plans to have the Fotheringay box set finished? I would love more songs  and live material....

The pedantic answer to that is 'no'.  18 actually.... (Feb 4 89)

I've been listening to a lot of the Trevor led Cropredy stuff recently (82 and so on) - the extra dimension and material he adds to the sound is sadly missed.  A major talent.  So sad I never saw him perform.

October, according to this:

Not a box, just one CD of studio stuff, by the sound of it.

It's the Fotheringay II album that was unfinished at Sandy's death.

Jerry D finally got everyone's OK to complete it....

I really like the Trevor Lucas stuff - especially Bring 'em Down.

I think Jerry's gonna be as thorough as possible.  It's a real labour of love for him doing this Fotheringay 2 project.

And amen to all those posts about Trevor - I loved the man's voice plus many of his songs.  How wonderful is it to hear him sing the "a thousand times I wished meself again all alone with me Polly on the shore" line?  Sensational!

Jules

This is such great news!  Many thanks to Jerry for his perseverance on this project over the years.

In advance, I think my favorite track of this set is "Gypsy Davey".  Beyond the lyrics, it's just such a great work melodically and rhythmically, as Fotheringay performed it.  But perhaps, upon the official release, I'll be surprised by other tracks in the set.  (I've had the opportunity to hear many of these tracks from "unofficial" sources, but even for those I've heard, I look forward to improved audio quality on the new release.

Funny thing, the time perspective: 1970, when Fotheringay's first release came forth,
feels to me in some ways like only yesterday.  But IN 1970, imagining back to 37 years before THAT seemed like eons in the past.

Cheers ///  Tom***
