Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: davidmjs on April 29, 2007, 09:28:10 PM Best cover yet though It's amazing what you can do with 10 minutes on Photoshop isn't it? ;) Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Nic O on April 29, 2007, 10:08:12 PM Looks like this is due for (another) re-release... http://tinyurl.com/34atzc Re-mastered? is this the fourth or fifth? ... I know my version (with the two tone blue sleeve) refers to at least two previous releases Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Staffan on April 30, 2007, 07:40:21 AM I remember feeling a bit disappointed when it came out on CD, as it contained the same material as on the LP. Since the album clocks in at just over 40 minutes I felt that there was plenty of room for some bonus tracks for us faithful devotees :) . My memory is that the whole set at Broughton was amazing and that there are songs well worth putting out on a remastered CD. Maybe the recording didn't go well. I have a faint memory noticing Simon commenting that not all was recorded or there was recording trouble of some sort....
But a couple of "new" tracks (it's more than 25 years ago!) is needed for me to go and buy a copy. I've already got two. ;) Staffan Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Big Dave on April 30, 2007, 08:10:34 AM Looks like this is due for (another) re-release... http://tinyurl.com/34atzc Re-mastered? Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Marky on April 30, 2007, 09:20:36 AM Simon, Richard, Peggy, Swarb, DM, Bruce and Jude if I remember :)

Don't recognise the label, USA jobbie? Or am I am being dim? ??? Australian I think. Isn't this the same label that put out the Fiddlestix compilation & Sandy & Trevor's Attic Tracks? This is one of my favourite FC live albums. Essentially the Full House line up. A bit short but it has a real energy. Don't need a new copy though. my existing one (on Talking Elephant) is perfectly decent. Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Jules Gray on April 30, 2007, 09:54:19 AM Don't need a new copy though. my existing one (on Talking Elephant) is perfectly decent. Unless it's been expanded! I saw this was due for a re-release on the database at my local indie record shop when I was ordering the BBC box set. I hope it is a longer version of the album...even though I only bought it about 6 months ago! Jules Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: GubGub (Al) on April 30, 2007, 10:06:32 AM Track listing looks the same.
Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Jules Gray on April 30, 2007, 10:33:54 AM Track listing looks the same. I'll bet it's not been remastered either then. A close listen to my copy the other day suggested it was actually transferred from vinyl - I could hear the surface noise on Poor Will. So if it is remastered then it may actually be worth buying. Jules Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: GubGub (Al) on April 30, 2007, 10:37:03 AM I suspect it is just an overseas issue of the existing version.
Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: Curt on April 30, 2007, 03:42:03 PM Its got my favourite ever bit of Jude in it and that Thompson geezer playing some fine guitar - so buy it if you don't have it :P

Jules As good (even better) than Joni ;D Title: Re: Moat on the Ledge Post by: fstix (Michael) on May 01, 2007, 03:54:09 AM Australian I think. Isn't this the same label that put out the Fiddlestix compilation & Sandy & Trevor's Attic Tracks? Different bird. :) This is on Eagle Records which appears to be US. The Australian reissue label is Raven Records www.ravenrecords.com.au . |
