Was it filmed for dvd release?  I would like to know the 40th anniversary setlist and the FC setlist and guest list if possible. I played a few DVDs at home to celebrate in my own way. I am bummed that I missed the 40th. Can someone give me some song details? Thanks in advance.

What a great setlist. Who sang the intro to Hexamshire Lass? Who sang lead in Dr of Physic. Did Trevor, RT,  and Maart ever trade leads?
Does anyone have friday nights setlist?  I'm very happy to hear that it was filmed. I can't wait for the dvd. Please please please make a ntsc multi DVD set.

Trevor? Um...he died in 1989.....

Chris sang Hexhamshire Lass. Can't remember Dr of Physik, might have been either RT or a collective effort ie every did every verse.

The "Richard Thompson for Completists" site has an interesting observation : "RICHARD THOMPSON keeps his distance towards the current Fairport Convention, that performs songs with references to Beatles songs, Volkswagen's first van, the M*A*S*H title tune and a church window in Banbury. During the final evening of CROPREDY 2007, last Saturday, RT choose to hold back much more than ever before at the event..."

I don't know how true that was, but I was down near the front during Walk Awhile, and RT didn't take the final verse - it almost looked like he'd forgotten he needed to be near a mic, and Simon rushed in to cover for him at the last second! Does anyone know whether it had been agreed in advance that RT wouldn't sing the last verse?

Richard also didn't sing his verse on Sloth, Simon did that.

I ment Donahue. Did they ever trade leads. I miss the days of FC and the lead guitarist. But I can't wait for the dvd. Or recording of the L&L line up.

It seems to me that Ian Mathews was under utilized in the Fairport set. I saw him at Cropredy 86 and he was great. I know he had his own set prior to Fairport this year, but I take it none of the Fairporters played with him during his set. Seems a shame to just have him up there for a song or two.

Simon and Richard played didn't they?  Sadly I missed it....

I thought it was RT being generally modest and hanging back so as not to unnecessarily crash the party*. It was, after all, Fairport's 40th and he hasn't actually been in the band for, what is it, the last ten years or so at least... ::)
The reference to FC playing songs mentioning the Beatles is notable - last time I saw him at Cropredy he was actually playing a Beatles song. It's an interesting observation, but I don't agree that he was necessarily keeping his distance** - just because an opinion's written on the interweb doesn't necessarily make it true. Including this one.  :)

This is only about the L&L set. Saturday was a different day. Friday was the best evening I've spent at Cropredy - bar none.

Jim swears I had tears in my eye but I'm not convinced  ;)

But then again that was the only time I've ever seen 5/6 of the original line-up and the first time in years I've seen Swarb walking and playing

Who cares if someone didn't sing 'their verse' Wasn't it just great to see and hear them playing it!

Ph, OK.....memory lapse....

Friday was amazing for us "young 'uns" who were nothing but babes when the album was originally released.I admit to being a bit teary listening to L&L being played live again I would hand over a few notes for a cd recording of it. Sat was one of the best sets in a long time as well,in my humble view the whole weekend from beginning to end was an excellent weekend from kerfuffle on Thursday right until Sat night.My only wish is that one year I can persuade my son to forget his fear of folk and camping it would change his life .

I too am waiting for sons to forget their fear of folk and join me in Cropredy

It wasn't on the album, but there are versions with Sandy singing it. It could have fit in, although technically it is on full house.
