Many rarities and unheard of before demos ranging from the 15 year old me to the current day (almost)

And stuff like that.

Worth double at half the price ;D :D

There are songs that have been heard before and quite a few that haven't been heard by anyone, (except some very close friends) that have been lying around in attics and cupboards.

And some that are waiting to be finished.

i love the voice of Judy Dyble.Chris While,Vikki Clayton,Cilla Black,Lulu,Grace Slick,Janis Joplin,and so on and so forth...........but i love the voice of the incomparable Miss Sandy Denny more than anyything .........
just my (humble) opinion.................

....and that's fine billy. I agree that Sandy had a fabulous voice. I'm really not in competition with her any more than I am with any other singer. I do what I do. :)

I suppose the reasons for comparison of singers who have been in the same band are obvious, but it doesn't make those comparisons valid - if you see what I mean (I've confused myself there  ::) )


As to the others billy mentions, Jude,I think you should challenge Cilla to an arm wrestling and tiddly winks biathlon - a competition of strength and hand to eye coordination, that usually sorts the wheat from the chaff.

She might have the edge at arm wrestling, but tiddly winks? No contest...  ::)

Perhaps we could make it 5-stones or Jacks, I used (note the 'used'!) to be pretty good at those. Ummm when I was 7....

Sounds like just the ticket! I did see one or two of your cds on a stall at Cropredy but wasn't really in a CD-buying mood which is very unusual for me... must've been all that sunshine. So you can put me down for a copy of the Lost Voice.

Didn't Linda Thompson "lose" her voice for a number of years too? I have a copy of her album Fashionably Late from 2002 and she was in fine voice on that.

I think Jude's reasons for withdrawing from the business were rather different?

Will there be anything of your sessions with Lol Coxhill? I was fascinated to read about that in the Record Collector profile. He's been a kind of Zelig figure in my musical tastes over the years.

I'm afraid not. I don't have anything from that bit of my musical life except the set-list and a few memories.
It was such a weird combination of people that I don't think anything was recorded :(

just listening to the Live at Broughton Castle CD,Moat on the Ledge.the version of Both Sides Now is lovely.my wife and i visited the Castle while up there for Cropredy but it was shut !

Just one thing, the title interested me...do you see yourself as a 'Folk' Singer, Jude?

Nope not at all, but I think that's how it's being promoted, as I suppose I sort of started off being 'folky'

Mind you all the labels I've gathered over the years seem to have 'folk' tagged on somewhere...psych-folk, prog-folk, wyrd-folk, twisted-folk, electro-folk, etc etc ;D

Me, I reckon I'm a genre all on my own........... ;D 8)

On what label will it be released? Maybe I can get my local shop to import it. Or is Musikfolk the the only channel to get it, maybe...???

It will be on one of the Sanctuary labels, but I'm not sure yet which one

And as Sanctuary have just been taken over by Universal, I don't know even more.... :D ::)

Out October 30th according to cduniverse. No artwork or tracklisting yet, but HMV Japan have it for pre order too.  :)

Yes that is the correct tracklisting, but the whole project is on hold due to the recent takeover of Sanctuary by Universal.

I haven't heard whether Universal will be continuing with this project or not.

I really hope they do. :(

I have it on pre-order too and I really, really hope Universal pull it all together.

I do feel quite priviledged though as I have heard it already 8) ... And there's one duet in particular that simply has to be released!  :D

Have just noticed that Play.com are listing this with a release date of 19 November!  :) :)

Stumbled accross it in their New Release listings. Can it be true? Let's hope so.

I'm really sorry, but it won't be happening for ages apparently. It should be taken off the release sheets that go to all these places, but hasn't yet.

Interestingly Tesco now have the release date as January 2020. :o
