Just as a matter of Interest Andy I was at Knebworth in '79[ Not organised enough to have keep the prog through!!] and I also live in Swansea [last 35 years ]

hope the move goes well  - poss see you at the FC Pontadawe gig if you're around by then. Pontardawe arts centre is a really excellent venue with a lot of varied gigs

I was at that. It (along with Blackbushe the previous year) finally stopped me going to huge festivals.
On the way back to the car the crowd was so dense and so tightly packed and moving at a fair lick I thought that was my lot.

Sat at bottom right, I believe, is Hugh Hopper from Soft Machine.  So that's 2 musicians who've played with FC & SM, t'other being Ric.

Out-bloody-rageous.

A couple of names amongst the Thank Yous that I don't know there. Alexandra Elene and MacLean Denny. I presume they were fleeting members as everyone else seems to have been. Does anyone know anything about these two?

I thought it was Trevor Lucus. He certainly played 'triangle' on the album.

Doh! How stupid do I feel now? Especially as I actually knew that!  :-[ :-[ :-[ ;D

For some reason I think I was confused by the spacing between the words Elene & MacLean. Oh dear. The shame! I'll get my coat and not show my face in public in TAW ever again! Well.....for a few minutes anyway.  ::)

It sure looks like Hugh Hopper - but I looked up on his extensive gig archive and I can't see a reference to him playing with Fairport. Certainly never come across a reference to it before.

At Cropredy that year I seem to remember a compere (?) yelling into his mike "and it didn't happen at F***ING KNEBWORTH,it happened HERE!
Who was that man? And did Freddie Truman really appear on stage? Or did I dream it?
