Thanks for offering to answer our questions. One of my favourite Fairport albums has always been Babacombe Lee. How did you get the idea of writing this album? It's not the sort of subject you think of every day for a concept album. :) Paul Title: Re: Babacombe Lee Post by: Jules Gray on February 01, 2008, 02:40:54 PM Hi Swarb
So great to have you with us. I have a further question about 'Babbacombe Lee' to add to Paul's. You may remember me asking you once about the song Farewell To A Poor Man's Son that you wrote for the BBC recording of the story. I don't think that show has ever been repeated on TV. Do you happen to have a copy of the show in your personal archives, or are we to fear that the programme has been lost to the ether? Swarb The song is on the Fairport box, Swarb, but I was thinking of the actual video footage. Do you know if that survived at all? Cheers, Jules Title: Re: Babacombe Lee Post by: Swarb on February 01, 2008, 06:04:02 PM It was on Melvyn Bragg's South Bank Show, not positive, but think I have a copy in my archives...copies are very expensive ;)
