Hiya Swarb, Glasgow calling.
I recall, whilst working in a hotel in Kendal (1985, I think), so it would have been your last tour proper with FC, that gig in Kendal Leisure Centre.  You had laryngitis and so weren't singing.  Simon appeared in shorts in "honour of being in a leisure centre" and support, Dick Gaughan, couldn't make it through the border snows!!
Anyway, Norm, Peggy and Bruce headed off afterwards (probably to Joyce's) and you came back to the hotel. I asked what you were taking for your ailment and you replied, "Port"!!
Several bottles were had over several games of pool into the wee small hours!!
Just made me think....what is the most bizarre ailment to hit on tour?

I remember the occasion well, it was funnily enough the place where the shite hit the fan so to s[eak, I went to hosp and was diagnosed with bronchitus, it wasnt of course, it was smoking.I did many gigs later with oxygen, and in a wheelchair, they were the worst.

I saw you at Cropredy several years ago, with oxygen and in a wheelchair, and I don't mind admitting I had tears in my eyes.

It was fantastic seeing you at Cropredy last year, with you leaping around the stage, fire flying from the fiddle, just like the old days. Again I had tears in my eyes, but for a much happier reason.

Do you now feel as well as you did before you became seriously ill? You certainly look it.  :)

most of the time i feel great, there are loads if side effects from the many pills i have to tale, and i aint getting any younger  , but all in all i coulndt be happier.
