Title: Simon as a producer
Post by: Paolo on April 30, 2008, 03:05:32 PM
I recently enjoyed "Earl O'Moray" by Five Hands Reel, a good Simon Nicol production from late 70's. Did Simon produced other album out of Fairport and Fairport Family (ie Gottle and Hokey Pokey)?

best

Along with Mark Tucker Simon has had a key role in the production of most recent FC albums.

Yes, but did Simon produce other non FC albums? Earl O'Moray is very good scottish folk rock, probably the best recorded by the band (3 LP's in late 70's) lead by the only Dick Gaughan.

From the biog on the FC website.................

Quote
During the 1970s, Simon took a four-year break from Fairport working on various projects as both producer and musician, collaborating with Dave Swarbrick and The Albion Country Band among others.

I think he was involved in the production of 'Gottle O' Geer'.
Am I right or wrong?
