New issue of Classic Rock magazine has a short interview with Simon Nicol talking about Cropredy.

Quick enough to read whilst browsing in your local newsagent if you don't want to buy :)

It's on page 35 but it hasn't yet hit the newstands. When it does,given the festival guide that comes with it,it may be in a bag or something,thus precluding the opportunity to have a quick neb at the paper shop.

It was in WH Smith on Charing Cross station on Friday morning.

No wrap arounds on any of the copies there so easy to sneek a peak without having to buy.  :)

I think it's only fair that the magazine gets purchased by all and sundry. Otherwise there'll be no magazine.

Fair point! I don't mean to suggest that you shouldn't buy a copy but before you lay out £4.50 be aware the said interview takes up a quarter of a page and can be read in less than a minute. I have bought copies myself in the past when contained articles of interest to me, though overall a bit too heavy metal for my taste to regularly read.

A worthy sentiment in these days of downloading, burning & swapping music and trawling the interweb for free TV programmes that rely on advertising revenue in order to be made. On the other hand, £4.50 is quite a lot to shell out in order to learn that Cropredy is basically a big village fete, it's really fun and there's a bell in the church with their name on it.

But if you don't shell out the 4.50, how can you hope to acquire a free CD no doubt featuring the Moody Marsden Band performing "Here I Go" recorded on a hand held dictaphone in a noisy pub or a previously unreleased Izzy Stradlin cover of UFO's Rock Bottom etc etc??

Good point, well made. I got Uncut this month, lured in by the promise of an exclusive CSNY interview, a Waterboys 'Whole of the Moon' feature and a free CD of the very latet hot things in Americana. The first was good, the second was enlightening, and the third was absolute shocking bobbins. Still, you pays yer £4.50, etc....
By the way, I gleaned from Classic Rock that there's a new Uriah Heep album, so all is not lost... ::)

See, I didn't know this.  That's what comes of living in America and relying on your mates to tell you the highlights every year of a big village fete you're never able to go to.   :(  So the article was worth the dosh to me.

But people who would not normally ever buy the magazine in a month of sundays nor ever would till Hell freezes over, may catch a glimpse of some advertising while sneaking a look at the SN interview, buy the thing advertised, recommend it to all their friends and cause such an increase in sales of the aforementioned thing that  Classic Rock Magazine will get so much more business that it can afford to drop its ludicrously high cover price to a level  that somebody other than a bleedin' rock star can afford. Thank you.
