Title: Live Across the Centuries
Post by: koho (Koen) on June 16, 2008, 04:14:55 PM
Judging by its tacky 'celtic/new-age-y' cover, I assume this is the newest in a long line of crappy compilations which have flooded the market in the last decade or so--

If so, watch out. But maybe someone can correct me on this.

It is starting to become a nice collector's field - Fairport c-r-a-p compilations  ::)
(I couldn't type that as one word, it said "****". It ain't that bad a word, is it? Like ***, *** or ***?)

If you follow this link  (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-Across-Centuries-Fairport-Convention/dp/B0019SQS6W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1213633549&sr=8-1) it gives the amazon.co.uk page which has the track list.

Interesting choice of tracks...

Cheers

Nick

Doesn't give the source of these tracks though. So far, my guess is that it's from previously widely released Cropredy performances culled from Crop Box (Crop'97) and Another Palindrome ('02), with a bit of AT2/Moat stuff or possibly Cropredy To Portmeiron material? I'd be very surprised if it's anything other than that. I am, however, judging the book by its toe curling cover so maybe there's a pleasant surprise buried in here. But if I am right, no doubt the booklet will have pics of pre-80s line ups who don't actually perform here, and a number of spelling mistakes, Simon Nichol being one.
Could be wrong.

I like the cut of your jib, sir... less slavish than many on here!
