Title: A Bass I've never seen before.... Post by: KascadeDan on July 24, 2009, 05:56:23 PM If anyone is able to dig out their Cropredy 2007 programme, take a look at page 53...
I've never seen Mr Pegg use that Bass, but I LIKE it. I've always thought it would be ideal for use on the acoustic tour. I was wondering if anyone knew the make, or know if Peggy used it at some point for a Record or a Gig? Title: Re: A Bass I've never seen before.... Post by: Steve with the black dog on July 24, 2009, 11:31:38 PM It is interesting isn't it!
If you look at the bridge it has a radius of about 3-4" (ie the amount of curve). Most guitars and basses have much flatter radii - my precision is amost flat. The one in the picture looks like an electric double bass - ie it is designed to be played with a bow - hence the curve on the neck. But who am I to say! Title: Re: A Bass I've never seen before.... Post by: Neil Morrell on July 24, 2009, 11:58:16 PM It would make sense that it's an Upright. That neck radius would make it almost impossible to play as a Fretless Bass. Most guitars and basses have a fingerboard radii between 8 - 10 inches.
It does look very interesting though. Title: Re: A Bass I've never seen before.... Post by: Red Shoes (Caz+Mark) on July 25, 2009, 12:35:15 AM Me thinks it's one of his double basses ;)
