Interesting.
To me it still sounds great, and one of those relatively few albums which don't have a single weak track, even after many listens. The skip forward button remains unmolested during L&L.

40 years though..........I think my fave band 40 years ago was The Archies.  ;)

I'm totally with Albie on this.  Plus quite a few others in the catalogue..
