Title: RT in Liverpool tonight
Post by: Shankly (Peter) on July 16, 2010, 08:35:01 AM
I'm going to the Phil tonight to see RT as part of 'Bob Harris presents' at the Summer Pops. I'm getting quite excited now. There seem to be quite a few acts on - Diana Jones, who supported him on his 2007 tour and Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou, plus special guests so I'm not sure what to expect from RT. Presumably, it won't be a full set?

Anyone else going?

This is what I wrote over in 'Active'....

The gig was part of the Liverpool Pops, and was 'presented' by Bob Harris. God he's boring. he wittled on and on with some tangential anecdotes between the acts, none of which were in any way entertaining.

On the up side, first support 'Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou' were excellent; I bought their CD.

Second support 'Diana Jones' was dreadful, but then I have a very low tollerance for Country.

See? Oxford really punches above its weight in music terms. These two are part of the Oxford scene - used to be known as Indigo Moss and are regulars at Truck, Wood, Charlbury Riverside and other local festivals. They crop up in various of the Truck-related bands like Danny & The Champs, Dusty and whatever else the Bennett Brothers are up to. I think they're great live as a duo but I find his recorded voice starts to grate after a while  :-\ She's a very fine singer though. They have a radio show too that's worth the occasional listen.

Cheers

Nick
