Title: Appeal from Swarb for Fairport recordings '76 - '78 Post by: Jill S-B on November 11, 2010, 12:00:34 PM Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so please alter if wrong Mods.
Dave (Swarb) has asked me to post the following on his behalf: - I'm putting together a cd from my archives of the four piece Fairport line-up of '76,'77,'78. I have a few gaps to fill and don't want to miss anything out. So, has anyone any decent recorded live stuff? I'd be very interested . If so, IM Jill here or contact me via my website. Thanks folks. Swarb -. Title: Re: Appeal from Swarb for Fairport recordings '76 - '78 Post by: davidmjs on November 11, 2010, 12:19:47 PM I've sent an IM. In brief, I've got one '78 recording which is fab but almost certainly not releasable quality...plus a decent German FM of the same lineup in '84.
I look forward to the release...you'll have a definite purchaser in me! Title: Re: Appeal from Swarb for Fairport recordings '76 - '78 Post by: Jules Gray on November 11, 2010, 12:31:06 PM Other than what's come out on various official comps I don't have anything from that period.
I remember I once sent Swarb a CD of some of the Free Reed box set so he could check on a lyric for me (Farewell To A Poor Man's Son). Turns out he hadn't heard most of the stuff on there before, so best advice to Swarb is to check what's already out there first and make sure his selections don't duplicate. Oh and, yes, I'll buy! A couple of tracks have appeared on Free Reed boxes but most haven't appeared officially.
