Title: Ric(k) Sanders' Past Crimes [Soft Machine Reissue] Post by: Harbottle (Martin) on November 30, 2010, 01:03:21 PM Some of you (Not many, perhaps) might be interested in the re-issue of the only Soft Machine album our Ric(k) played on - Alive & Well recorded in Paris. Recorded not long before the band effectively split up.
Although I'm struggling to hear much of his violin in amongst John Etheridge's guitar, which really does predominate! There're some nice jazzy solos and an avante-garde-ish track he composed... A bit of interactions between etheridge and Sanders as well (Mahavishnu in style.) The main album was all new material recorded live (Apart from one track, which is a studio track)... There's a 2nd CD of the rest of the concert... He doesn't get called Ric Saunders in the credits, either! Well, I like it - some good stuff from Karl Jenkins. Not sure about the disco track. I have a failing that maybe you are ;D It's the only drum machine I've heard that appears to be unable to keep a beat! I don't think Ric even appears on the track. Don't quite know how feeling became a failing, but still, glad you managed to translate that back to some kind of sense!
