Title: Latest Q Magazine
Post by: PeteD on February 27, 2011, 12:02:06 AM
The new edition of Q Magazine has a large article titled 'The 50 Ultimate British Songs', picked by various esteemed artists.

A certain Mr Paul Weller picks none other than WKWTTG by Fairport.   :)

Oh yes...Q's glory days are long gone, it hasn't been any good since about 2001. Occasionally pick it up in WHSmith's for a scan, but wouldn't consider buying it any more

Its poor in relation to Mojo, Uncut, R2 etc.
We used to love doing the quiz though , until the internet made it too easy.
Won quite a few decent prizes.
I always remember being stuck on the last one of 20 lyrics to name , waking up in the middle of the night, rushing downstairs stark naked and singing along to a certain Tom Robinson song in my headphones (I dont share its sentiments though!). We won the top 50 albums of the year!

They were vinyl , shows how long ago. I used to do it with a mate and split any prizes ( if possible- otherwise the one who actually won it kept it). I think a lot of folk did it that way. Over the years we won a number of bundles of albums and CDs, a years supply of Sol  ;D, 2 game boys , piles of books etc etc.
The internet takes away the fun of the chase.
