Indeed this tracklisting looks very good!  They were a tight little unit back then and I have some very fond memories of that period.

I hadn't realised that there was one which went off.

At long last, Swarb has decided to commission his long awaited Biography. He has given the substantial, but very exciting task, to his partner and confidante Jill Swarbrick-Banks. Jill has already written the near complete history of her decade so far with Swarb, which records first hand his Daily Telegraph obituary episode, emphysemic years and bi-lateral lung transplant, their life together and the very many anecdotes of course. And so, it was Swarb's natural inclination to ask Jill to write his life story, warts and all!

Jill obviously has a massive task ahead of her, accumulating information of every type concerning Swarb. So a request!

If anyone has any information, memories, anecdotes, photographs, films, rare facts...scandals, nice stuff, in fact anything at all on Dave Swarbrick, Jill would be immensely grateful to receive it! Please don't forget to add your name, a contact address and / or telephone number, possible date of event, text or photograph...and any background info. to back it up please. Everything will be totally confidential. Jill & Swarb would be extremely grateful! Please make contact here in the first instance.

Oh!  Swarb's book?  Brilliant!  I hope it happens.

I was thinking of that Fairport book that was being talked about a few months ago.

According to Jill, the biography is a little on the back burner, while she is busy with her current "artist in residence" gig.  The CD does promise to be good - I know, I supplied the tracks recorded in Australia.  :)  But there are others beside - though I'm not quite sure which track was recorded where, just yet...!

It's a shame it won't be released until Autumn, it sounds like perfect in car listening on the way / home from Cropredy.

Or maybe it will ?

Fairport headquarters announced on Facebook today that this album shall be released on 16 July 2012.

Happy to see on Swarb's website that Swarb and Martin Carthy are due to play at Nettlebed Folk Club in Sept.  Last time I had tickets to see them there was when Swarb was taken ill again, and Martin Carthy played a solo set.  Let's hope this time I will actually get to see them both!

Got "4 Play" in the mail yesterday - kindly sent to me in advance from Swarb because I helped out with some material. I can definitely confirm that fans of this line-up (and I know there are many) featuring SN, DP, DS and BR will love it. Order with confidence...

As did I though I fear a slightly bootleggy quality from some of the sound clips.

Haven't heard the clips myself, but Swarb transferred them from his own tapes so that would probably account for it. Still adding to my wish list though!
