Title: RT BBC4 Session Post by: StephenGiles on March 24, 2013, 02:53:01 PM What a delight to hear that set of tunes from Smiddyburn performed by RT & Swarb. I remember listening to that from outside the stage door of the Half Moon Putney at the 1981 Cropredy warm up - I arrived to late to get in!

Looks normal sized to me when he's playing. It looks a bit long during the chatter at the start because he's holding it differently. Is that a larger than normal one? I wonder why? I thought the same. I vaguely remember someone telling me that the better violin player you are the more you can make use of a longer bow. They're harder to control, but enable you to play longer notes with more sustain. I think that's right anyway.
