Garth Hudson is marvellous throughout, Dave Davies something of a revelation, Graham Parker on fine form, and The Band Played On was made for RT.

Dare i say it, I actually did like that programme.
It was helped though by my hearing the Cliff Adams singers, with Jack Emblow (on the accordion) on an LP of bawdy rugby songs... My sense of humour was tickled that the same "safe song singers" were knocking out those rugby songs with some relish.
