I wonder what the fee would be for a solo 'private house gig'?

I hope I'm not divulging any trade secrets here but there were 24 of us paying twenty quid a time - bring your own booze!

£480?....that's a reasonable night. Maybe he took 90% and left the host with nearky £50 for his trouble, but its often friends doing him a favour. A well attended hiuse concert can make more than a 'proper' venue, simply because there aren't any overheads charged to the artist

The host said he wasn't making anything from it, just about covering costs. He had a friend over from London doing support so he may have paid petrol costs for him, too, I guess. I'm not sure.

Of course you didn't pay for  a house gig, far too many regulations come in to play. You will have given a £20 voluntary contribution or gift.😇
This is worth a read.

Thanks for posting the review. Hopefully Mr Matthews will be touring the UK again soon. Very impressed when I saw him with his Dutch keyboard player a few years back.
