Jules It is an interesting question though as he was not in the band either when he wrote it or when they recorded it. I almost chose it myself as my favourite song of that era. Much the same applies to The Poor Ditching Boy, the Fairport version of which I really adore. On reflection, we probably have to exclude them from this category or else we have to start allowing Fairport live recordings of Solo or John The Gun (for example). Those are all wonderful things and I share your enthusiasm but they probably have to be disallowed on a technicality. |
