The nomination period is now closed. I have just realised that I cannot lock the topics myself so I will be grateful if one of the Mods can do so on my behalf so that I can analyse the nominations.

I will set up the voting threads once I have done this, probably tomorrow (Saturday).

I haven't followed every single post on the topics but it is good to see that this idea has stimulated a bit of activity and participation on the bard and from what I can tell, there is one big surprise.

Unless I have missed it in my initial scan of the appropriate nomination thread, there was not a single nomination for Who Knows Where The Time Goes as favourite song. I'm astonished by that and there are a few other names missing that I might have also expected to be there.

I do appear to have made the most appalling shambles of setting this up so I have locked the voting for the time being until it can be sorted out.

Not sure how I have meade such a mess of it as I have set up polls many times before but that seems to be the sort of week I have had one way and another.

All votes will eventually be re-set to nil so if you have already voted, please do so again when the polls are unlocked/renewed.

I entered one vote in a few categories with the thought that I'd come back and add my second vote later.  and of course I can't do that.  Doh!

My view.
The Polling software on this forum isn't great (understatement). Changing anything will reset the end date and possibly reset everything. Try it in one poll.

I don't want you to risk it just for my votes, Al.  If there's a danger of it all going pear-shaped, just leave it as is.

This is excellent. I think we should all type posts like the policeman from Alllo Allo.

If it is any compensation Bridj, Most of my own choices came nowhere close to topping the polls either (apart from Least Favourite Sleeve). Its a sad world when you cannot fix it for your favourites to win even when you are organising the poll! Not for the first time, I seem to be completely out of step with the rest of TAW.

Floyd, YES, or if you want a real struggle, Poll of Grateful Dead Live recordings! Be here all year!

Fill your boots but somebody else will need to take it on.

In order to work, it needs to be a band/artist with a popular following on the board so I would suggest that the Dead or Yes would be too niche.

Also, Fairport break down quite easily into specific eras/line ups which can define the categories. The subject of any other poll would need similar attributes.

I bow to your expertise and diligence. Congratulations on this mammoth effort!

I'm not offering to do it, but Steeleye Span might make a good subject for such a poll.

I would not be able to participate in that one as I know nothing of their work (apart from the obvious), which is not a reason not to do it of course.

Albion Band might work if sufficient nominations could be gathered. Their work breaks down quite well into eras. 71-80, 83-87, 89-90, 93-2001.

Sorry to double post. I like the idea of RT but I'm not sure how you would break it down. Richard & Linda, solo 72-86, solo 88-99 and solo 2003-15 maybe?

Or......the Albion Band! Fairport related and some absolute gems in there.
