Nice set - I'd not seen them live before, but I was impressed.

I have seen them before, and wasn't quite as impressed as I had hoped I would be.  Maybe because they were showcasing stuff from the new album, which I didn't know yet (though I have bought it)?  Still enjoyable, though.

it felt like half a normal FoF show to me and they ditched some of the usual show stoppers,
personally, if they don't do "battle of the somme" i cry.
i cried :'(

That segue from 'March of the Siamese Children' into 'Kashmir' was awesome. Chris should unleash his inner Percy more often.

Kashmir was the highlight, by a country mile. Some of the other stuff was pedestrian, but who cares? Kashmir! Coo!

After listening to one of the FCC 2017 set lists on Spotify I didn't think I would enjoy these. Strings of folk tunes played ad nauseous in unison don't really do it for me. However, it wasn't a true representation of what I heard at the festival.

It was very varied, and I especially enjoyed the bluesy stuff.

I didn't enjoy feat of fiddles the previous time they were on, as I found them too samey, and most of the fiddle parts were in unison. What a change this time, amazing variety of different genres of music. Kashmir was the best, but liked some of the cinema and show themes as well.

Only seen them once before at a previous Cropredy and they didn't make much of an impression that time.

This time they were the band I 'discovered' with so much variety with the fiddles complimenting the other instruments rather than dominating.  The sax and clarinet (or was it a tenor sax) added so much to the sound.  I thought Pirates of the Caribbean sounded familiar and suddenly it went into a Wishbone Ash riff which I couldn't place until it finally came to me as the one from Phoenix.

Must catch the April tour next year or go to the New Forest Folk Fest which the are already booked for.

Agreed. It was sublime. A Festival moment for me  :)
