She doesn’t need to ‘get down’...it is Robert Plant, not Kool and the Gang! ( other funk bands are available) ;D Aww, I would come along if we still lived in Powys...love Carmarthen, my man and I met there at college. There's a few people (friends and acquaintances) who are mulling it over to see if they can make it, but hopefully it'll get sorted soon :) Title: Re: Saving Grace (featuring Robert Plant) Post by: davidmjs on March 28, 2019, 11:29:04 AM Sam seems not to be interested, so the ticket (Stalls, Row L) is still here if someone wants it :)

She is 26 now and may regret saying that :) Anyway, I still think he is a living legend and can’t wait to hear about the concert afterwards! People , for reasons I failed to understand, seemed to expect him to do Zeppelin songs. I was listening to a Space Shifters album today , that I go back to a lot. He has to be admired for not living in the past but always trying new stuff. As opposed to Jimmy Page bringing out another new edition of a 45 year old album...... Title: Re: Saving Grace (featuring Robert Plant) Post by: davidmjs on April 23, 2019, 10:51:12 AM Priory of Brion, you mean...? Watching PoB live (saw them 4 times + Cropredy, I think) were some of the best live experiences of my life. It had already outgrown itself by the time they did Cropredy anyway...I think it may even have been their last performance?

Self-indulgent was the term that came to mind.
I certainly wouldn't be forking out £32.50 per ticket. He's a multi-millionaire and most of the rest of us are definitely not, especially after the last 18 months. * Others' opinions may differ, of course. Horses for courses and all that, but I think yours is about the only negative artistic opinion I've ever heard about Saving Grace (apart perhaps from those who mistakenly go and think it is a Robert Plant gig, which it patently isn't). I'd be amazed if Percy's making any money out of the venture at all... £32.50 really is not an expensive ticket in 2021 (and I moan a lot about expensive gig tickets). Title: Re: Saving Grace (featuring Robert Plant) Post by: davidmjs on May 13, 2021, 10:53:42 AM ps and fwiw, Led Zep tickets in 2007 cost £125 (or £177.36 at 2020 prices). And Led Zep tickets in 1971 cost £1 (or £14.46 at 2020 prices). I know this proves precisely nothing ;D
If anyone wants to get really aerated about ticket prices, go and have a look how much a ticket for Genesis costs ;) Title: Re: Saving Grace (featuring Robert Plant) Post by: blagden on May 13, 2021, 12:57:15 PM ps and fwiw, Led Zep tickets in 2007 cost £125 (or £177.36 at 2020 prices). Both expensive for tribute bands.
Mine is not the only negative "Saving Grace" opinion that I have heard, but I know you liked it, so, great for you, David. One of the members of the touring party for Saving Grace has been contacted by NHS Track and Trace and is now having to self-isolate. This unfortunately means that the performance due to take place at Town Hall on Monday 2nd August 2021 will no longer be possible. We are working with B:Music to find an alternative date. Please wait to be contacted by B:Music box office for further details Thanks in advance for your understanding, and our apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused. The Parr Hall is a great venue, saw Fairport there back in 2006, worst I've ever seen them. It was clear they weren't getting on at the time, or at least Peggy and Simon weren't. First time I saw PJ Wright too - he was great! Title: Re: Saving Grace (featuring Robert Plant) Post by: PaulT on November 18, 2021, 12:57:10 PM I "think" it was the Parr Hall where I saw the Albion Band (with Cathy LeSurf, JP Rasle & co).
(My maternal grandmother's family - the Holmes (Holmeses?) - came from Warrington). We struggled to find anywhere to get a bite to eat before the gig and had to settle unfortunately for a Macdonalds. That was the day before it was blown up by the IRA!!
