We're delighted to announce the publication later this year of a new history of Fairport Convention - as told by the fans. We want to hear your Fairport memories - how you discovered the band, the records you've bought, the shows you've been to, the songs you love most and the landmark moments in your life that are somehow linked to Fairport Convention. If you are writing about a particular concert, please include the date of the show if you can. And we'd love to see your photographs too, whether that's pictures of your memorabilia, of you and your friends - or of the band! The best stories will appear in print and the book's editor will acknowledge receipt of every story. Please send your memories to fairportfanbook@gmail.com . The fan history of Fairport Convention will be published by Spenwood Books in November 2022. Please email your stories, don't put them here. Yes that's right. Hopefully not too long as one of my copies needs to go under a tree for someone. Title: Re: Fairport Memories sought for new book Post by: PaulT on November 29, 2022, 01:42:09 PM My copy arrived on Saturday - good quality paper, binding, photos, nice clear font and page layouts, and Richard didn't edit my contribution at all... I'm just a bit chuffed that I've managed to get into print the fact that 3 generations of my family have seen FC playing live - and in fact 4 saw the mighty Swarb play in person.

Without spoiling anyone's enjoyment (I hope!), I think I can safely say that the overriding feeling that comes through is that of the mutual warmth and affection that flow between the band and the fans, followed cloesly by the respect with which the band is afforded by other artists and people in the music business.
