Cropredy Toast…

Any suggestions anyone?

Devastated to have lost my stone bottle I've brought my toast contribution in for years.

Will have to bring something else to hold this years effort called "The Pink Stuff".

I was going to concoct some pink "Barbieheimer" in homage to the 2 recent film releases - looks pretty, causes atomic explosions later - but it looks like Trev's beaten me to it.  

So, Plan B is being put into operation - it may well turn out to be dayglo orange, but should help with your five-a-day (fruit n veg intake, not trips to the Turdises!)  

Possibly reasonably healthy, especially if it tastes foul...

Nope, the "Orangey Boom" (  ;) ) is macerating away as I type...

OK ... The toast is too important a tradition to let slide away.

I've a couple of suggestions to hopefully ensure its continuation ;

One)...Pastie Boy gets elected as permanent toastmaster until he no longer wants it. He has the voice and personality and can by forgiven his Plymouth Argyll deviance.

Two)... Someone volunteers to get the shot glasses and is reimbursed from the proceeds as a legitimate expense.

Three)... Someone volunteers to be purser..Collecting the monies and making the donation to the charity.

I love the idea of the toast and really hope we can keep it as an important part of our Cropredy.

Yet again I have every good intention of making it this year... why is there always so much going on?

Agreed… far too important to let it fall away.

I already have the shot glassesand I don’t want compensation for them.

So Pastieboy…?

What time ?  

My suggestion would be for 7-30 after the Young uns finish and before we all go "Oh wakadee wackaday".

We are still looking for a volunteer to collect the money in

Last years Toast I think had the lowest number gathering ever ( poss due to heat) . But collected the highest charity amount ever . Can we beat last years folks ? No pressure . Dig deep .

I’m with trev from field 7 on time. 7:30 worked ok for last year.

This year I shall try to limit myself to a total amount that will permit seeing the rest of the evening 😁😁😁🤣🤣

There was one year when I slept through most of FC due to the effects of the toast. I think it may have been PastieBoy's herbal concoction that caused it.
It was jolly good stuff though :-)

He is renowned for interesting ‘herbal’ things!

I remember it well, it tasted awful but left you wanting more (and craving a Mars Bar!)

At exactly this time next week folks we will be together toasting our departed loved ones again..

I actually quite liked the taste but it didn't leave me wanting a Mars bar.  :D

Due to ongoing "not quite right" issues I haven't brewed so.ething myself this year. But I do have something that will amuse,sadly it might be a little too palatable!  ;D

Is it served with a ladle? If not I *might* try it 😁😁

Good to see so many of you this year, and to actually put faces to some names I hadn't really met before!  Both at the toast and the cricket club.

That Vietnamese rice wine needed a health warning . Great turnout. Well done . Btw did AJ Clarke plug the meet ? I asked him the favour but if he did I missed it .

All donations paid in - £265 plus Gift Aid brings it up to £331.25 to Teenage Cancer Trust (why do I keep thinking of mutant ninja turtles;)).  

Thanks to everyone who contributed their good (and not so) drinks and also all those who put monies in the pot  :D
