But back to the topic - what chances of an original line up reunion? Anyone know what happened to Shaun Frater?

doesnt he run a successful carpet cleaning firm or somesuch in australia?

Australia - correct. But I'm pretty certain he' runs a removal company.... !!!

He was also in an Aussie band called state secret

Last weekend I went to the 'Off the Tracks' Festival which takes place near Castle Donington, Derbyshire. I saw a great band perform called David Longdon and the Magic Club. I thinkthey are really worth considering for Cropredy 2007, I believe David had performed at this years Shrewsbury Folk Festival also.

suggested bands:

Horslips
Chieftains
Dubliners (easily the best band I have ever saw at Cropredy)
Levellers or Drunk In Public(you know it makes sense)
Ian Campbell Folk band (highly influential. Go on the 2 Dave's)
Robert Plant band
Planxty band / Bothy band / Moving Hearts
Wolftones (ah rebel music)
The Pogues

You've been looking through my iPod..... Add a solo set from your man Christy and you're there... I have seen The Pogues on their Brixton Christmas shows the past couple of years and they have been superb.

Cue Father Ted scenario:

Father Dougal: "The Dubliners - where were they from then Ted?"

You can't use the C-word, Jack. Not unless it's December, then you might get away with it.

By the way, you haven't tried to use the word **** have you?
