And I shall be raising a glass to her memory later on.  If fact, I have had a few sideways glances from colleagues today because today's wallpaper on the computer screen is a photo of Sandy's grave.

Along with the usual mix of early and later material, solo, Fairport & Fotheringay, they have included Battle Of Evermore with Led Zep!  Certainly the first time on a Sandy comp; maybe it will cause a few Zep completists to buy the set and discover her talents too.

The recent Led Zep "Mothership" collection didn't include Battle... whereas the previous "best of" - Remastered - did.

Wow, thank you Gower Flower that was a very telling overview in a very short time, my compliments to its author. Certainly I never knew of the dalliance with Frank Zappa. Also feel sympathy of a sort for Trevor Lucas who I assume was the womaniser referred to, and the incredible guilt he must have felt after her passing. I know he was not much longer for this world. But mostly touching was her insecurity about her appearance, the result of perceptions of men primarily I suspect, certainly I have been guilty, and can say, in addition to that part of my brain that harbors anger, another part common in most men's DNA, the perception of female appearance, for whatever good it does, and it might be none, I think I and others would do well to have it removed. God Bless and Keep You, Sandy, truly you have been irreplacable.

It really upsets me that Sandy seems to have been so insecure about her looks. I saw her about five times, a couple of them in very small venues, and I am here to tell you that she was a right smasher. Not that she would have thanked me for saying so.........

People are strange aren't they. Maybe on a parallel world to this, aliens are consuming their Cadbury's Smash and having a good old cackle at us.
