Dear Peggy

It's just a thought, but it is a thought that has occurred to me each time there has been a special anniversary (i.e. 1992,1997 and 2002).  The thought is:

while its really nice to see old Fairport line-ups reform and play the same songs with the same line-ups (health/availability permitting), why not use the opportunity to make things a little more interesting, i.e. why not have RT play on Angel Delight material, Iain M/Judy sing on Unhalfbricking/Liege and Lief material.  By interesting I am not suggesting that anyone who originally played loose their job but, allow the audience to play a little "Fantasy Fairport" i.e. where there is an obvious vacancy (such as no Sandy or no lead guitar on the original track) use the opportunity of the gig to see where the song can be taken.  I thought it was one of the highlights of 2002 when Iain stayed on stage and sang on songs from Unhalfbricking.  I do not know if it was intentional but it made the performance far more interesting than if he had simply walked off at that point.

As I said, just a thought.
