It's the American issue of Live Convention. Used as the back cover for the CD re-issue

Being interested in history, I like to know a bit about the background of my fav bands. I read things and have an incredible ability to hold useless information! S'pose I'm a bit of a Fairport anorack. Not good for a guy of my age! Edit: Nice website BTW - are you the guy who does the Bebo one?

Not uncommon in the UK as might be expected. I seem to remember the last time there was a large second hand record stall at the Canal Wharf in Cropredy, they actually had several copies of this for sale and not at exorbitant prices either.
cheers Joss

It is good to be a fairport fan at your age, so we can encourage others to be there for their 80th anniversary.

On a sort of unrelated topic... A few years ago I saw Fairport at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia (a little outside Washington, D.C.), and afterwards the band was in the bar area, signing records and CD's, chatting with the fans, etc. Anyway, someone approached Simon with four or five records for him to sign; a smattering of Fairport, solo, Albion albums, and that version of "Live Convention." Simon was extremely polite (as usual), trying to explain to the gentleman that yes, he would sign it, but he didn't play on that record.
At the time, I didn't know which record it was, I just saw a quick glimpse of the cover, but not the title or the band. I assumed it was a later Albion record, because I thought I had seen all the Fairport album covers and that one didn't look familiar. It wasn't until just now that I see what album it was.
I remember someone later mentioning that one problem with some of the US releases, like "Movable Feast" and "Live at the LA Troubadour" was that they were scant on details, like band members, year recorded, etc.
Interesting to discover what album that was...
