Surprised to see a double CD of the Birthday Bash in HEAD (Formerly FOPP) in Leamington this weekend... Not seen it mentioned on this forum. Is it a new release or has it been around for some time? (Was it really a year ago.)

It sounds good - from what I remember of the show, there were some technical problems with the sound in places. I don't think the whole lot is there.

I highly recommend Peggy's Birthday Bash CD.  It's pretty great from start to finish, even if you ignore all the other instruments and just listen to the bass guitar.

Highlights for me are Bouree (with Peggy, Doane Perry, Ian Anderson and Martin Barre), Solo (featuring Beth Nielson Chapman doing a very credible vocal, plus Jerry Donahue and Swarb) and Rising for the Moon (performed charmingly in French and English by Dan Ar Bras).

I would highly recommend it.  If you have the 50th birthday CD, it is as good, if not better.  It's a good variety, one song from each artist (except for Tull, they do two songs).  I like the fact that for the most part, the songs aren't ones that we all have six or seven versions of already.  The songs are all well chosen, good versions.

Plus one of the funniest musical videos I've ever seen - i.e. where a well known singer and musician totally forgets the words to a song. Saying any more would be a spoiler.
