Hi Maart
Sounds from your website that you are having fun on the BNC tour. Just wondered what instruments you have taken on the road and are any of your collection 'off-limits' for road use.
Looking forward to Manchester towards the end of the tour.
Best wishes
Jon

Hi Jon
Well I'm playing my Hudson fretless bass and my Sobell Model 3 acoustic guitar. Marcus Hummon is using my old Yamaha FG330 as well as one of his own guitars. Beth is using her Ozark bouzouki and a beautiful little black Faith guitar which she bought in Glasgow. We're using a grand piano wherever available and Marcus is playing Beth's Roland FP-4 electric piano. When no grand is available, Beth will play the Roland and Marcus will play my Axiom 61 keyboard through MainStage on a Mac.
As to instruments being off-limits, my old Armstrong fretless is now too precious to me to tour, and the newer one is too heavy to play all night. Everything else is welcome to come out with me, but it depends what sounds are required.

Hi Maart
Thanks for the info, really looking forward to seeing the smaller (than last time we saw Beth) line-up.
Wasn't familiar with Marcus Hummon's stuff but been listening to some on-line - fantastic stuff, great songs, particularly liked 'Rosanna'. Do you get to join Marcus on stage during his set at all?
Cheers
Jon

Well he's invited me. It depends how busy I am backstage as I'm tour managing again. He is a great songwriter. Have you heard Bless The Broken Road? He won a Grammy for that one!

Yes I have, another great song - it reminded me a bit of some of the early Jackson Browne stuff especially with the electric slide a la Dave Lindley. Cheers Jon

Speaking of electric slide and instruments being off limits, does the Reso 2 leave the house much? That's one of the best looking guitars I've ever seen!

Hi Martyn
It actually hardly ever gets out. It's for sale if you want it. Great guitar, and Chris Leslie made a high nut for it so it can be played lap style if you prefer. I've only used it a couple of times. I used it on a Charlie Dore album back in the 90s. It's lovely.

Bloody 'ell, if you could have seen the shock on my face at that offer! Then reality took over. It'd be out of my league on so many levels, it really deserves go to someone who could do it justice....and afford it! Just out of interest, £1000..£1500...more?

As it was a one-off made exclusively for the NAMM show that year as an example of how good they can be, and then sat in the corner on a throne with a "Don't even look at me because you are not worthy" sign on it, I couldn't possibly let it go for less than £2000...
Very collectable
Maart Inverness, near tour-end...

Yeah, in all honesty I expected £2000 - £2500 to be more realistic - can't imagine you'll be heartbroken if no one steps forward though! Good luck either way.
