Hey Iain, 'twas fab to see you back together again with Ad Vanderveen last Thursday.
How did you meet up? I know you lived in Amsterdam for a while about 10 years ago following your years in Texas. Were you familiar with Ad before that?
(for others: Ad Vanderveen was already a singer/songwriter of note in the 90s in certain circles in Holland and abroad, with several albums down his belt solo and, in the early 90s, with his band Personnel ... though I must admit I was unfamiliar with him at the time).
I saw the two of you for the first time in Amen in May 2000 (that particular gig was recorded and released as the first Iain Ad Venture CD). At the time I had never heard of Ad Vanderveen and was blown away - been a fan ever since, for which I must thank you therefore. When the two of you play, it's definetely a case of being more than the sum of its parts.
Also: would you consider expanding to a trio please  Tongue? Because, at last week's gig, Kersten de Ligny's backing vocals on the encore (Ad's song Cloud Of Unknowing) were something else.

I met Ad through a friend Yvonne Elenbaas, in Amsterdam. She was my publisher at the time and knew I was looking for a playing partner. I feel I work best in duo setting and a likeminded sould was crucial.
I went down to see Ad a couple of times and knew instantlyit would work. I felt a connection without playing a note with him. We have a brand new studio album out here "Ride the times" at the end of April and shows for the rest of this year, into next.
