Most recent photo (can't remember where) I have seen does indeed show a name plaque depiciting a sailing / fishing boat.

I wonder if it's the same name plate that was around in the days of the Nicol family - or whether it was added later?

Google have indeed misplaced the point where Queens Avenue becomes Fortis Green. Fairport is still on the corner of Fortis Green and Fortismere Avenue. How many millions of miles of streets have they so far photographed I wonder? It's no wonder that a 50 yard glitch will creep in somewhere.

Oh and the house nameplate with the ship on it is long after our time there: when I grew up in the house it was a plain rectangular piece of wood with the name pyrographed into it - but not in Koster Christmas Special font, I'm sorry to recall.

I loved the bit at the Barbican where Joe Boyd described it as Ashley's house, and a shocked pedant shouted "Simon's House", whereupon you had to explain that as Ashley lived there at the time it was indeed Ashley's house

Publicly available on Royal Mail postcode finder so I don't think this is a data protection issue

Googling would suggest that Fairport hasn't been used as a private residence for a long time, it's been registered as the offices of various different businesses, so it's not as if anyone's privacy is being invaded.
