A brand new Dave Swarbrick related CD - "Swarbtricks"!

"Thirty seven original compositions from the pen of the master, tastefully arranged and performed by Scottish North East fiddle and mandolin player Duncan Wood, with guests including veteran Boys of the Lough front man Cathal McConnell from County Fermanagh on flute and whistle, and Martin McDonald from the Isle of Lewis on guitar. A rich assortment of traditional-sounding melodies which demonstrate the versatility and supreme compositional skills of Britain’s most celebrated folk fiddler.  A unique and compelling insight into the creative mind of one of the great characters of British traditional music, illustrated in over an hour of richly-textured playing by a group of performers whose love for “Swarb’s” music shines through in every note they play."  (http://bit.ly/X0ZS0a)

Also see https://www.facebook.com/BirnamCD
Swarb wrote the material especially for the project but doesn't play on it himself.

Here's one, essentially about Swarb's forthcoming gigs, but maybe of interest to one or two for whom the background information about the rogue obit/my role in it etc  is new

http:// http://www.salutlive.com/2013/03/swarbs-on-the-road-14-years-after-the-daily-telegraph-reported-him-dead.html

It was prompted by yet another mention of the obit, and Swarb's mini-tour later this year with Martin Carthy, at Fairport's recent Leeds gig ....
