A good start to the festival - nice to see Maart and DM in the extended lineup. Festival Bell, slipjigs and reels, Portmerian (with tribute to Bobby Bragg, and widow of Westmorland to finish the short set. Appetite whetted...

Nice to see DM and Maart make an appearance, but I sometimes wonder if this very short slot has outlived its usefulness. To be honest, I can't really see the point of it anymore. No sooner has it started than it's finished.

Missed most of it as I had queued for an hour and a half to get a t-shirt and got into the tent just as they came on!

Saves carrying two cases. Grin Rob Armstrong's finest and I bet it sounded marvellous.

It is indeed an instrument made for me by Coventry's own Rob Armstrong, built eight years ago to beat the airlines on work with Swarb. Sadly, that did not transpire so I thought this was the perfect occasion to give it an airing. It's a bouzouki on top and a guitar below. More here:

A nice little set to warm things up. For some reason I got to pondering that that bunch of guys between them have been responsible for the last 32 years out of the 50 years of Fairport, which has been since Live Aid, and the same amount of time between Heartbreak Hotel and We Call It Acieed.....
