Hi Dave! Sweet of you to indulge us like this!
I saw your post above about touring with Dylan Project and PJ in the coming year.
What are the chances of either getting over to the States and Canada?
And - to risk everone saying 'shutup already' - I truly MISS you playing over here as Fairport in the 4-5 pc lineup. Remember fondly the fabulous gigs in the Bottom Line. Are you planning anything special as the full band for American audiences during the 40th?
Maybe getting on the Austin, TX fest lineup in September? A one-off Lincoln Centre summer festival outdoor gig? Doing some TV?
Hugs from one unashamed to be called 'fan'......

Hi Bush-ville. I would love to come to the USA. with the Fairports but have blotted my copy book with our promoter Pat Garrett. I used to love the Bottom Line gigs, all great apart from one time when I got completely trashed and insulted the club owner and probably every one else in the building. You know when you get a bad reputation it is very damaging for the band and takes a long time to put right. Although I am certainly not the only Fairporter to be guilty of "letting the side down" I am probably the most guilty. A rest was needed, and a rest is certainly better than arrest!! It did come close to that on occasions. Time will heal I am sure, and Re. Austin I was only talking to Chris Bates last night about this event . We would love to come if the promoter would have us. Certainly PJ. and myself would come over too if someone organised a tour for us. Glad you miss me and hope to see you in the New Year although I will not be doing the May U.S.A. dates. Please don't get the impression that I don't want to, but Simon Ric and Chris wish to do them as a trio, or at least that was the last I heard. Best wishes, Peggy.

Dear Peggy, I am flabbergasted by the naked honesty of your reply. Hurrah you!
re: Austin fest - perhaps some of the listees here have direct contacts or experience with the fest? Robbsie has the info... perhaps a direct contact btwn the band and the fest organizers is best - for a one-off - you could fly in and maybe add some TV in new York. Short and sweet - but highly important in terms of potential profile for the band in the US - great exposure. For the duo or Dylan Project why not approach Metropolitan Talent / Concerts Tonight to at least start with a NY gig with a good and folk-friendly promoter. What fun that would be!
