RISING FOR THE MOON is by FAR my favorite release by Fairport... although ->sigh<- I've never known anyone else who shares that opinion.

I have seen your recent reference to the biographical song, STRANGER TO HIMSELF.

I was wondering if you had any other memories about this oft-overlooked collection.  The title track is Fantastic... and a song like WHAT IS TRUE certainly doesn't come along every day... or even YEAR!

By the way, death really does seem to agree with yoiu! Sleepy

yes, you only live twice, james bond said something simular.but one musnt mock the grim reaper or you might get reaped.
I like the album a lot, some of it was written in the studio, and it was produced by glyn johns who covered it all in silk, i stayed at his place while we recorded it, and we would go home and sit in his private sauna.all in all it ws much fun. its funny that it turned out well
at the time we were all in a kind of limbo, burdened with debt and not wery creative, overworked etc. but somehow and i think it was because sandy was back, we managed to pull it off,it wasnt without drama, dm was upset with the way glyn was behaving and opted out half way through, bruce joined at glyns suggestion, so as you can see twas a miracle aye?
