"So You Wanna Be A Rock And Roll Star" - provided that Simon would pull out his 12 string Rickenbacker from the mothballs.

That would be more fun than a frog in a glass of milk! Grin

I suggest Shuffle the Pack or Mr Lacey. Grin

As for something completely different, how about Rigs of the Time. Shocked

I'd like to hear something different at the end of Matty Groves - prehaps the return of High Road to Linton, or something completely different.

Devil goes down to Georgia, with Swarb playing Johnny, and Ric playing The Devil, with full effects pedals.

Paul

I've often imagined that FC could do a fabulous version of that song.

I would like them to do "Golden Glove" and "Wishfulness Waltz" because I have never heard them do that live I think.

My out of the hat songs would be "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" with Simon John Breckenridge Nicol on spoons and jellied eels (as the only current London born member of the band), followed by an encore of  "Forty Fahsend Fevvers On A Frush" with Peggy dressed as a pearly king.

Well a guy can dream can't he?

Now that idea would have been great last year.

Imagine the Fairports chasing the Tiny Tin Ladies across the stage.

True and Education Welfare may have withdrawn permission for the Tiniest Lady to skip school for the tour.

Actually it's disturbing on more than one level.

And Wileytown probably would have taken the wind out of the band.

There are a couple og great boots of RT doing just this live on stage.

He only managed one line of Devo's 'Are We Not Men?'.

For Fairport;

Old Song - bring Em Down

Other Artist - Old Horse by the Albion Band, Ace of Spades, or perhaps Waterloo Sunset.

As it has been seen from the 'Winter Spoilers' thread the choices that Fairport have made themselves from the back catalogue have been varied . The Babbacombe Lee section was a real bonus +Reynardine +The Rose Hip +Doctor of Physick..all out of the hat?
This tour has been one of the best for making you rediscover albums from the full 40 year history.

Best Winter Tour since ... since ...

...last year!

Seriously though, one of the best winter tours I have attended - and I've been to every one since 1999.
