Prompted by the prospect of cheap Fairport CDs in FOPP, I am considering upgrading some of my old discs to the remasters with bonus tracks. I already have the remasters of House Full, Live (A Moveable Feast), Babbacombe Lee and Liege & Lief but which of the other albums (Full House aside) contain essential material amongst the bonus tracks that is not available elsewhere (i.e. on the BBC set)? And which should be at the top of my shopping list based purely on the bonus tracks?
Whilst we're about it, I have the same question about the Richard & Linda Thompson Island albums.
Fairport Nine and
Rosie have a great set of live tracks from a 1973 gig split over the two releases.
Then there's the first three albums - all have bonus tracks well worth hearing.
For Richard & Linda, you need 'em all. Great bonus tracks on
Bright Lights,
Hokey Poley and
Pour Down Like Silver. And the recently released
Live 1975 set is bloody marvelous.
