any news on the Fairport Convention gig tonight? Is it still on? I tried to ring the venue but can't get through, we are pretty much snowed in here in Taunton, we were gonna get the train to Weston tonight but looks like we might not be able to make it,

After being on hold for ages I eventually got thru to the box office and they confirmed that the gig is definitely on tonight.

Sadly, my daughter Jenny and I won't make it. She is snowed in near Tiverton and very grumpy about it all. (She is visually impaired, with learning disabilities and really can't understand what is happening.) However, I have got tickets for Birmingham, where we can stay with my Mum, so all is not lost.
Hope it goes well this evening for all who get there.

Just checked with the Playhouse, the crew have arrived, artists are on their way. Should be ok for tonight. Plenty of B&Bs if we get stuck there!

And a wonderful view across the channel to the two islands of Flat Holm and Steep Holm!! www.flatholm.co.uk

They do say if it's clear enough to see Wales on the other side, it's going to rain, but if you can't see the other side, it's raining already...

Great stuff, hope you all made it and had a safe journey home. A thoroughly enjoyable evening but a shame about Peggy's bass cutting out occasionally! Provided a laugh or two 'though. Didn't get stuck there after all, thank goodness.

we have just arrived home after the gig, we had a great time at Weston tonight! thought Fairport were excellent as usual! no problems getting there as the trains were all on time!  noticed that all the pavements seemed to be cleared in Weston and when we got back to Taunton it was slipping and sliding again!
