Mark i am currently listening , to 3 hours of comedy genius with the great man and was bemused to hear yourself interviewing him between shows.
Would you finally come clean and admit that you have ridden to the very top of the business he callls showbiz on his
cat of nine tails
,
petticoat tails
frock coat.
Great stuff though and i see Graham Duff is also involved with the Count, how did you prepare for your starring role in "Ideal"? and can we expect further cameos from your good self in "my family" or "that 70's show"?
You aired the white suit for that photoshoot on Canvey Island with the surviving members of the original Feelgoods line up although it was somewhat less than clean when it appeared at Cropredy a year or two ago (which i suppose is only right as Lee's white suit was less than decorous by the time they had reached the free trade hall) . However i digress, are there any plans for the Big Figures to commit to vinyl?

hey jim,
you are quite right. i have shamelessly exploited my association with The Count to further my own showbiz career.
you are also right to use the word 'genius'. myself and john leonard were absolutely captivated by Count Arthur when we first saw him in Edinburgh many years ago. we started to use him on the late night radio 2 show I did but were convinced he should be on radio 4 and now here we are gearing up for series 7!
i've known johnny vegas for years and have worked with him a few times including a memorable gig with him and The Mahones at Warrington Parr Hall.
Graham Duff I obviously know through The Count and he asked me if I'd be in Ideal.
Johnny is such a warm and great guy. Very open and welcoming. I was very happy to do that scene and it's amazing the number of people who saw it but I have yet to be offered any major film roles as a consequence.
The (off) white suit is still in the bottom of one of my Mahones drum cases I think - I am cask maturing it for my next visit to Cropredy as I would love to think we'd play there in some shape or form again one day. very happy memories.
I don't think The Big Figures will make an album because the nature of the beast is that it's all covers of r'n'b and blues tunes and so there doesn't seem much point really. I guess we might do a live cd just to sell at gigs - but no plans. We are available for bookings though if you want us.
