For me I like "Sense of Occasion's cover".
It reminds me of a Renoir painting.

May seem an obvious one (although I don't think it's been mentioned yet) but I'd have to say Liege and Lief. Especially with the little 'folklore' notes added etc.

That is a really good sleeve, with the Pete Frame family tree - also it was interesting to see how many changes there had already been by the time it was released (which, I think, was 1972?)

Was that when Renoir was in his "not being able to paint" period.

It has to be said that Fairport album covers over the years haven't been the most artistic. And post-Island they have been particularly shoddy. The only one that stand as as being particularly strong for me are:
Unhalfbricking Full House History Of... Liege & Lief Gottle O' Geer
On a good day I might add The Bonny Bunch Of Roses. After that....hmmm.

The inner of Full House (old gatefold) has a nice picture, rather like old pics in gatefolds by Traffic and Mott the Hoople, so I like it.
There are some Fpt sleeves I've never even looked at, but Unhalfbricking is a good one. The rear picture makes them look like a family sitting down to eat.

Back in those days they'd have been glad of the opportunity! I believe that the kitchen photo was taken the same day at the same location and that Sandy's mum did the cooking. Jules
