So as this is the last day of TAW as we have known it for such a long time
I would like to say thank you to Colin YABB without whom, and all the mods and admins.
I have made so many lovely musical friends here and I wish everyone continues their
happy music filled lives, to meet again in reality or virtually.
Good luck to everyone 🥰🥰🥰

I was trying to think of something emotional and profound that would lead to a last minute reprieve, but cannot I am afraid.

The variety, the archive, the reviews, the festivals, the releases, the videos, the fairport chatter, the announcements, the opportunity to review Cropredy acts, the advice, new finds, buoyant discussion and so much more are all to end.

There are loads like me who mainly read, but thanks to those of you who post and have provided the opportunity :-)

All I can say is thanks and good luck. Looks like we will have to manage with the vehicle that led to the demise; Facebook.

Do we know if it is actually ending tomorrow?  I know that's the date Colin originally said, but the last post I saw from him said that nothing much would be happening for the next few weeks, and that was mid-September.  But if it is the end, I hope to see many of you 'on the other side'.

Thanks from me, too...(should this be in members’ announce rather than the public one, as that was where Colin put his posts about it?).

See you on the other side! Will, I think you are right. Maybe not just yet.

I truly hope this isn't really the end cos i'm one of  dwindling number who was never on Basefook and despises everything it's about.

Either way, sincere thanks to Colin and team on this sad and auspicious day

I have questions about despising everything something is about that you've never actually experienced....but maybe they're for another time  Wink

A big thank you to Colin and the moderators for this great forum. It has been informative, amusing and a  place to meet other fans of Fairport.  Through times of stress and losing family and friends I have found it a great comfort knowing that others were there to listen.

Would like to echo the other posts and say a big THANK YOU to all the admins and moderators of TAW.
I am not a frequent contributor but check in most days and have always found much interesting and lively discussion here.
Would certainly like to be considered for membership in the slimmed down version.
Brian.

Colin did ( not long ago) say he was on holiday and wouldn’t be doing much for a few weeks, on here.

Sorry to hear this. I haven’t been here much since August so missed that things were coming to an end. This has been a great place for info about Fairport and other music so thanks to everyone who shared.
